Objectives and Goals

Purpose of the Program

 

The Department of Economics, which is a very old branch of science, has become more important with the effect of the economic crises and economic developments, and the quality of the students to be educated has gained critical importance.

 

One of the goals of our department is to raise qualified students who can realize this importance, have theoretical and practical knowledge in sub-disciplines such as economic theory, economic policy, economic history and economic development and international economics, and will contribute to the country's economy.

 

The main aim of the department of economics is to train economists who can conduct qualified and effective research, create added value in the field, and come up with innovative ideas. An economist, who can also be defined as an engineer of the science of economics, is a well-equipped person who knows economic theories well, has mathematical knowledge to understand advanced statistical methods, as well as knows how to use computers to apply this knowledge to data and interprets the results he finds. The aim of the Department of Economics is to try to ensure that individuals grow up in a modern educational environment and bring well-equipped graduates to life.

 

Department of Economics; It aims to provide information that systematically examines the structure, functioning, development and problems of today's economies with a curriculum suitable for the micro and macro characteristics of an economy. To provide students with the necessary knowledge to be successful in economic management; By educating the nature of international economic relations, national economy-world economy relations, by educating graduates who can keep up with the information society as an economic and commercial and private and public sphere, and equipped with all the necessary information as a business and national economy, they train them in national and global scales in the relevant fields. aims at their employment.

 

Within the scope of theoretical developments and different economic approaches, in the Department of Economics, Law, Business, Accounting, Foreign language, Turkish and Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions courses are included in addition to the economics/economics courses, including the analysis of economic problems related to the world and the country's economy. as well as current issues related to implementation. At the same time, there are statistical and econometric courses that will contribute to observing economic events, analyzing and evaluating data and putting forward ideas. In addition, there are elective course alternatives that can broaden the students' perspective, contribute to their knowledge and deepen their knowledge, enable them to have more knowledge in the fields they are interested in, and increase their desire to learn and research.

 

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

 

EO1: To train economists who are experts in their fields who are sensitive to developments in Turkey and the world economy, who can think universally, who are innovative, participatory, have a broad horizon, have sufficient self-confidence, have high academic skills, can conduct qualified and effective research, and can create added value.

 

EO2: To train well-equipped economists who have good knowledge of economic theories, can understand advanced statistical methods, can use computers at a level to apply this knowledge to data, can access scientific outputs and interpret the results they find.

 

EO3: To enable students to conduct research in different fields of economics as an independent researcher or as a member of group studies by improving their learning desire, capacity and satisfaction.

 

EO4: To provide employment opportunities to our graduates in the public and private sectors by making our graduates qualified individuals with corporate culture and information age equipment.
